Versatility From the Perfect Partnership
Operators Favor the Roof Height Options From Ford
Select Your Floor Plan
The Ford Transit offers three roof heights, and a roomy 148″ wheelbase. Great for hauling sports equipment or overnight luggage. Choose from side or front entry with door opener. Call or write for details.
While the low roof van boasts access advantages to parking and automatic car wash structures, the mid roof and hi roof offer driver and passenger advantages while moving about the interior.
The 148” WB is the standard for Ford and the longer body length offers both comfortable seating for the driver + 10 students, and a large rear storage space for luggage, sports equipment and more.
All roof height versions offer a choice of Front entry (removes the front passenger seat) or Side passenger entry (retains the front passenger seat).
The purpose-built Ford Transit 10 passenger Safety Van, certified as an MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) meets or exceeds all applicable FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards). The SafetyVan MPV features FMVSS 207 and 210 compliant high back individual passenger seats with integrated lap and shoulder belts. Integrated Child Restraint Systems (CRS) are available for all seating positions.
Several 10 passenger floor plans are available as illustrated. The most popular configuration is the side entry option, and access and egress are made easier with the inclusion of the OEM Ford or the SafetyVan running boards (also available for the driver) and the space saving sliding side entry door.
The convenient center aisle seating design on all SafetyVans allows smoother movement from front to back within the van (wall mounted seat belts and climbing over wheel wells are a thing of the past) as well as a direct path to emergency egress out the back door(s).
The individualized Hi back seats with integrated lap and shoulder belts provide each and every passenger with the comfort and safety of built in head rests and easy to use 3-point lap and shoulder securement. And, each SafetyVan offers Rear Door Emergency Egress – Rear door is not blocked by rear seats.
The Ford Transit, available with a choice of V6 engines and yes, even AWD, … shares many of the same safety features found on the Chevrolet/GMC 10 Passenger MPV SafetyVan, many of which are not found on even the safest school buses. For example:
Lane departure warning
Headlamps, dual halogen composite
Electronic Stability Control
Daytime running lights
Forward collision alert
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Mirror, inside rearview, with Rear Vision Camera display
4-Wheel Anti-Lock-Braking System
Airbags, frontal, front driver and right front.
Front to Rear Head-Curtain Side Air Bags – standard head-curtain side air bags help reduce the risk of injury to outboard occupants in rows two , three, and four.
Available (optional) AWD
You owe it to yourself and/or your organization to evaluate the SafetyVan for your transportation demands. When you do you’ll quickly determine the SafetyVan to be the vehicle that makes sense in every respect, especially when it comes to protecting lives.
