The Perfect Pairing: GM and SafetyVan

Select Your Floor Plan

GM Savannah and Chevy Express offer two wheelbase models: 135″ and 155″. Each can be configured to suit your needs and requirements, including side entry or front entry with opener. Call or write for details.

Start with Factory Options

Standard wheelbase (135”) for comfortable 10 passenger seating and ease of operation and maximum economy, or the extended wheelbase (155”) offering large rear storage space, child seats, sports equipment, and more.

Both models offer a choice of front entry (driver only) or side passenger entry (the front passenger OEM seat is retained).

Now add the SafetyVan Features

The purpose-built Chevrolet Express 10 passenger Safety Van, certified as an MPV, meets or exceeds all applicable FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards).  The SafetyVan MPV features FMVSS 207 and 210 compliant high back individual passenger seats with integrated lap and shoulder belts. Integrated Child Restraint Systems (CRS) are available for all seating positions.

Several 10 passenger floor plans are available as illustrated. The most popular configuration is the side entry option, and access and egress are made easier with the inclusion of SafetyVan running boards (also available for the driver) and the space saving sliding side entry door.

The convenient center aisle seating design on all SafetyVans allows smoother movement from front to back within the van (wall mounted seat belts and climbing over wheel wells are a thing of the past) as well as a direct path to emergency egress out the back door(s).

The individualized Hi back seats with integrated lap and shoulder belts provide each and every passenger with the comfort and safety of built in head rests and easy to use 3-point lap and shoulder securement. And, each SafetyVan offers Rear Door Emergency Egress – Read door not blocked by rear seat.

Chevrolet/GMC, with a choice of V6 or V8, features a broad array of standard safety benefits that can be categorized as Crash Avoidance or Crash Protection.

Crash Avoidance

For the longer chassis version, the 155″ wheelbase adds stability and puts the weight right where it belongs… between the axles. Proper weight distribution in conjunction with GM’s trademarked “Stabilitrak” (electronic stability control) provides the sure footed handling characteristics that puts the GM van in a performance class by itself. Crash Avoidance also includes:

  • Lane departure warning
  • Headlamps, dual halogen composite
  • Daytime running lights
  • Forward collision alert
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • Mirror, inside rearview, with Rear Vision Camera display
  • 4-Wheel Anti-Lock-Braking System

GM Crash Protection features include:

Steel Safety Cage – Reinforcing the floor, body sills, and roof pillars, the safety cage surrounds and protects the entire passenger compartment

Airbags, frontal, front driver and right front. Right front passenger includes passenger-side airbag deactivation switch

Front to Rear Head-Curtain Side Air Bags – GM segment-exclusive standard head-curtain side air bags help reduce the risk of injury to outboard occupants in rows two , three, and four.

Enhanced-Technology Glass -Standard in the rear-most side windows, this three-layer special glass is designed to help reduce the risk of ejection during a crash.

You owe it to yourself and your organization to evaluate the SafetyVan for your transportation demands. When you do, you will quickly determine the SafetyVan to be the vehicle that makes sense in every respect—especially when it comes to protecting the lives of your students.
